Treat Your Unwanted Facial & Leg Veins Without Any Surgical Procedure

Broken blood vessels or capillaries, also known as spider veins, are visible just beneath the skin’s surface and may be noticeable on the nose, chin, cheeks, and legs. Often showing up by age 30, these vessels are not painful, but are sometimes upsetting as they become more noticeable. Dr. Brian Mekelburg can treat your unwanted facial and leg veins without any surgical procedure, directly in his Los Angeles office.

Laser Treatments

Spider veins treatment for face can be performed with advanced laser treatments for both men and women in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Brian Mekelburg offers two different types of lasers to remove facial blood vessels, with minimal to no side effects.

With a small pinch, YAG laser sends energy into the vessel and is absorbed by the blood, causing clotting and leading to the collapse of the vein. This laser is ideal for facial veins around the nose. Treatments required usually range from one to five.

Vbeam® Laser

The Vbeam uses a pulse-dye laser that sends out beams of light that close down unwanted vessels. It is often used for large areas of the face, sides of neck, and the chest. It is the laser of choice for treating rosacea. Three to five treatments are recommended for best results.

Sclerotherapy

This non-invasive treatment is one of the more common, reliable methods when it comes to your spider veins. Using an ultra-fine needle, Dr. Brian Mekelburg will inject a painless solution directly into the veins. Specially-prescribed compression stockings are worn for a few days afterwards to enhance the effect of the treatment. The average number of treatments needed for a given set of veins is three to four; the range is two to 12.

Treatments are usually performed every four weeks. Bruising is often common, but only temporary, and you can return to your daily activities the next day.

Now’s the time to treat those annoying skin irregularities, such as varicose veins, spider veins, and broken capillaries with a series of treatments performed by Los Angeles dermatologist, Dr. Brian Mekelburg. Call us today to set up an appointment.
